RER Formula
We use the veterinary standard "Resting Energy Requirement" formula: 70 × (Weight in kg) ^ 0.75. This tells us the baseline calories needed for survival.
Activity Matters
A sleeping senior cat needs far less food than a growing kitten. Our calculator applies specific multipliers (ranging from 0.8 to 2.5) to ensure you aren't overfeeding or underfeeding.
